Biography


Michelle Knox is originally a New Jersey native born in 1977. She relocated to the
San Francisco Bay Area in 1997 where she attended and graduated from
the California College of Art in 2000.

Michelle won both the Saxe Family Scholarship and the William Morrison Scholarship for Pilchuck Glass School
and the Richard Ritter Scholarship to attend The Penland School of Crafts. Over the past several years she has attended other glass institutes such as the Urban Glass, Public Glass and The Bay Area Glass Institute. In 2007 she was an Artist Assistant at Pilchuck Glass School for artist, Arthur Gonzales. In 2008 She won the Jury's Choice award at the Bay Area Glass Institute's Annual Auction and in 2009 was juried into the Live Auction Section for Pilchuck Glass School 31st Annual Auction

Michelle is emerging into her career and shows regularly. She is proud to be included in several private art collections. Her work and styles vary, but materials and concepts are consistent. She always uses glass and metal to create sculpture that emphasizes grace and subtleties. Michelle is currently pursuing her Masters Degree on a full scholarship at Tulane University in New Orleans.
