BIOGRAPHY

Michelle Knox, a New Jersey native, is an arts leader and active practicing artist with over 25 years of experience in art, design, and community building. She holds a BFA from the California College of the Arts and an MFA from Tulane University, earned on a full scholarship.

As Director of Programs and ADA Coordinator at GlassRoots, Newark’s Glass Art Center, Michelle oversees 24,000+ hours of programming annually, driving participation and revenue growth of over 20% each year. She is passionate about delivering arts and cultural experiences for all, grounded in a strong belief in equity and accessibility.
​
An accomplished artist, Michelle has a long exhibition record, extensive experience working with galleries, creating public art, and teaching. She also serves on the boards of Newark Arts and Monmouth Arts, was President of the Arts Society of Keyport, and has held leadership roles with Arts Ed Newark and the Keyport Green Team. She is a stakeholder with the NJ Department of Cultural Affairs, Neighborhood Preservation Program, and an elected member of the Monmouth County Democratic Committee.
